I was translating something in french into english, and clearly the translation did a horrible job. (“magsin” is suppose to mean store)
It did a great job making me laugh though.
Somehow, i view life like a huge translation.
I mean, here we are constantly trying to translate everyone around us. Be it from friendship, family, relationships and what not. And one way or another, we run across a translation like the one above; something that is totally out of the box and random.
Of course, this usually ends up being assumptions that we make.
When someone says something, we would translate it into something else, assume that that is exactly what they were thinking… and in a snap, that relationship is broken and you have no idea what caused it.
Here’s the eye opening “anagnorisis” moment.
I mispelled the damn word! It’s suppose to be magAsin.
And so be it with life as well. We say something WRONG, which causes the person to think of something else, which causes assumptions, which causes broken relationships, which causes….
an F in French.
